Tedlillian3 Plumeria -- A floral princess among the queens

O plumeria, with your hues of red, yellow and white
To all who wear you as a lei, you bring aloha and delight.
You are a floral princess among the many queens.
You are a gift from God -- and a product of His dreams.

Plumeria blossoms, created just for you
Fashioned  by the Master what humans can not do.
He must have smiled and said a prayer
As He blessed you-- and set you there and there.

Refrain:
Created by His hands and with His utmost love
O plumeria, you are a shining star -- from the garden high above.

IN MEMORIUM: DONALD P. WATSON (1912-1995)Department of Horticulture, CTAHR University of Hawaii at Manoa

Donaldwatson Dr. Donald Watson's foresight helped to establish Hawaii's protea industry through the early acquisition of grants for the collection of plant materials and his encouragement of researchers to develop cultural information about these plants. His enthusiasm for the plumeria resulted in the establishment of a germplasm collection, a breeding effort, and one of the first publications about plumeria culture.  He enjoyed teaching and initiated a popular course for students majoring outside the plant sciences entitled "Plants are for People," which he taught until his retirement. He also wrote popular horticulture features for local and international magazines and produced a total of well over 300 articles. Link to Article at University of Hawaii.
